Wine Tasting Home Party

A Wine Tasting Home Party is an informal, fun way to taste and learn about wine. At each party, guests are taught how to taste wine and learn the importance of the 5 S’s: See, Swirl, Smell, Sip, and Swallow (or Spit). Six to seven wines are poured and a brief discussion is held about each of the wines. See Wine Tasting Themes if you are looking for party ideas.

Hosting a wine tasting home party is easy!

The Hosting Party

  • provides water and light food, such as crackers or bread. Cheese and fruit are also nice.

World of Wine, LLC brings

  • the wine and the wine glasses.

Cost

There are three different pricing levels.

1. $10 per person

  • Minimum 10 people, maximum 16.
  • Bottle prices between $7 and $12.

2. $15 per person – THE MOST POPULAR PARTY

  • Minimum 10 people, maximum 16.
  • Bottle prices between $12.50 and $17.50.

3. $20 per person

  • Minimum 10 people, maximum 16.
  • Bottle prices between $18 and $25.

Can I invite more than 16 people?

Let’s talk since extra wine may be needed.

What styles of wines do you serve at a party?

Usually, I serve a sparkling wine, three white wines, and three red wines. The mix of wines can vary to meet your preferences.

Can you suggest some wine themes for a party?

There are many possible wine themes. You may want all the wines from a specific county or part of the world. You may choose wines made from the same grape. Wine and food or cheese pairings are also fun. Seasonal wines, or wines to celebrate a specific holiday can be interesting.

I’m having my own party and don’t have time to shop for wine. Can you help?

I’d be happy to help. Please contact me and we can discuss your preferences. Delivery is always free on the purchase of a case or more.

Can I purchase wine at the party?

Yes. World of Wine LLC sells the wines featured or any other wines that are available in Iowa.

How do I get the wine I ordered?

Depending on your order, you may be able to take the wine home with you. Otherwise, orders are given to the hosting party to distribute later the following week. If you order a case or more, delivery is free to the location of your choice in the metro Des Moines area.

Do you travel outside the Des Moines, Iowa metro area?

Yes, I travel within a 30 mile radius of Ankeny, Iowa. Mileage and other costs may apply for parties further away.
